The family winery Paraskevas, (owned by brothers Nikos, George and Katerina Paraskevas), is located in the historic village of Sarhos, which is 22 km from Heraklion. The history of the Paraskevas family and its ‘coupling’ with wine and tsikoudia began in 1950 by the father, Ioannis Paraskevas. Ioannis Paraskevas gathered 40 acres of cultivated vineyards in Sarhos Malevizi, as well as in the wider area of Heraklion Prefecture. In 1973, a pioneer for his time, he built concrete wine making tanks and wine presses of greater capacity. With respect to tradition, in 2013 the new modern winery was established where the first wine was bottled.
