MEERLUST ESTATE
The Meerlust Estate has been in the Myburgh family since 1756 and is located in southern Stellenbosch, under the direct cooling influence of the South Atlantic Ocean and the evening fog it produces in the summers. Focusing on the classic red varieties of Bordeaux and the classic Burgundy 'tandem', the producer has matched the four main terroirs of the estate to them. In years when a variety does not offer an ideal quality of raw material, the wine in which it is involved is simply not produced. His flagship wine, 'Rubicon', is one of the first historic Bordolese blends from South Africa (1980).
